The Elliot Watson Financial Planning team has gained another member.
We are excited to introduce to you our new receptionist, Hannah Pike. Hannah has been with us just a few short months, but already she is an integral part of the team. If you are due for a review you will soon hear Hannah’s sunny voice at the other end of the phone, if you haven’t already.
Hannah has just returned to the workforce after a 1.5-year break, where she had time to enjoy her daughter before she started school. With 10 years’ experience working in the financial advice profession and she previously worked as a financial adviser, compliance officer and customer service manager. As well as holding a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) Hannah is also a Justice of the Peace. Hannah works from our admin hub in East Maitland between the hours of 9am and 3pm.
So, let’s find out more about Hannah…
What does a normal day at work consist of for you?
I answer the phone, book meetings, attend to client requests, help implement advice and complete general office management duties. Not a minute is wasted, I do a bit of everything.
You have worked in the financial advice profession for over 10 years, what do you like about it?
It is a great profession. I enjoy seeing the positive impact quality advice has on clients’ lives. We often see clients come to us stressed about ‘how they can afford to retire’ and leave with a plan which gives them great peace of mind. It is very rewarding.
What do you like to do on the weekends?
What I “like to do” is go out for breakfast, Peterson Champagne House is one of my favourites, or take our French Bulldog Coco to horseshoe beach. However, like most busy working mums, my weekends are usually spent doing house chores and getting the family ready for the next week. As a special treat I love to go to Endota for a pamper!
What is the best piece of financial advice you have ever been given?
Protect what is important to you! Over the last 10 years I have unfortunately seen too many people not insured or underinsured and the devastating effects it can have on them and their families. It is so important to protect your family, not just your home and car.
