We are thrilled to have Jose onboard and look forward to what his experience and enthusiasm can bring to the team.
Let’s get to know Jose a little better….
What are your qualifications and work experience?
I hold a Masters in Financial Planning. I started in the profession as a paraplanner and worked my way up to an adviser. I enjoy working with clients to help them achieve what is important to them.
What do you enjoy about financial planning?
Financial planning is a very rewarding profession. I love helping individuals and their families get financially organised and make smart decisions about their money. You can make a real impact on the quality of people’s lives through advising and its what gets me excited about going to work.
What do you like to do on the weekends?
My wife and I love to take advantage of the lifestyle Newcastle has to offer, so you will often find us and our three kids at the beach on the weekends. It feels like the kids grow up in the blink of an eye so family time on the weekends is important to me.
I do love a good DIY project, which means spending time going back and forth to Bunnings on the weekends working on our home.
I also enjoy playing soccer, photography, riding my mountain bike at Glenrock and playing the guitar.
What do you like about Newcastle and the Hunter?
My family and I were originally from Sydney and moved up to the Hunter in 2014. 5 years on, we really love the Newcastle and the Hunter Valley lifestyle and everything it offers. It is a great place to raise a family.
What is the best piece of financial advice you have ever been given?
“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went”. Many people think that a budget is a scary thing, but it really is a great tool for getting your finances under control.
What are your goals for the future?
My wife and I would one day love to take our family to Chile to visit extended family and for my kids to learn were their grandparents came from.
