Meet The Team – Frank Hall

Meet Frank Hall

Frank Hall recently joined our team in a financial adviser support role, with the view to becoming a financial adviser. Frank has over 20 years’ experience as a Certified Practicing Accountant, and a background in superannuation having worked for Mine Super as a Fund Accountant. This is a career change for Frank as he seeks to move into a profession where he can make a positive difference in people’s lives.

It is a tremendous gain for us to have Frank onboard and we look forward to seeing the impact his wealth of knowledge will have on our business, clients, and team. You will likely meet Frank at your next review as he shadows our advisers and learns his new trade.

So, let us get to know Frank a little better…

What are your qualifications and work experience?

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle. I am a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and most recently completed a Diploma of Financial Planning (Kaplan).

I have 20 years’ experience in the accounting profession. I have worked in senior accountant roles in Sydney, London, and Newcastle, working for large multi-national companies such as JP Morgan and Royal Bank of Canada. Most recently I worked as a Fund Accountant for Mine Super.

Why have you decided to change careers?

I wanted to change my career to work in a profession where you can see the direct positive impact you have on people’s lives. I want to help my clients achieve their life goals, learn about investing, focus on what’s important, and reduce their worry and stress.

What do you like to do on the weekends?

On the weekends I enjoy spending time with my wife, daughter and our spoilt very cavoodle named Ted. You’ll often find us taking a walk down by the foreshore with coffees in hand just enjoying the lifestyle Newcastle has to offer. I grew up in Boggabri, have lived in Sydney and London, but Newcastle by far is our favourite place to live.

What is the best piece of financial advice you have ever been given?

“A part of all I earn is mine to keep”, a quote from The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason has always stuck with me. I grew up watching my parents save effectively, living within their means and not upgrading their lifestyle just because they could. I believe their example has had a positive impact on my personal view of money.
