NSW Value of Advice Award 2013 (Charter Financial Planning)

In 2013 Elliot was awarded the NSW Charter of Financial Planning Value of Advice Award. The award was in recognition of Elliot’s professional services and assistance to a former police officer who had suffered Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD).

Due to the illness Elliot’s client was unable to continue employment as a police officer. This resulted in considerable financial stress. Elliot was asked to review the financial circumstances and immediately identified a lump sum saving of $70,000 and a tax benefit, which translated into a $500,000 saving over the client’s life expectancy. Most importantly, the advice allowed Elliot’s client to get on with life without any present or future financial worries. The advice was a life changing experience for the client and Elliot is proud to have been able to help the client make such a difference to their future financial wellbeing.

“I can only offer praise and gratitude to Elliot. I was referred to him at a time when my life was in turmoil. Elliot helped me make important decisions and has enabled me to get on with my life with a secure outlook, both financially, and personally. I cannot thank Elliot enough for everything he has done for me. He went above and beyond the call of duty. I would absolutely recommend Elliot. Thank you for everything you have done for me.”

Personal Life

Elliot has lived in the Hunter region all of his life. He went to school at East Maitland and was elected school captain of Maitland Grossman High School (MGHS) in 2001.

He currently lives in East Maitland with his partner Karyn.

Elliot enjoys bike riding in his spare time. In 2009 he cycled around Tasmania with some of his friends. The cycling expedition took over 30 days and allowed Elliot to take in a lot of Tasmania’s breath taking scenery and conquer some of its biggest hills. Often at the end of a day’s hard ride Elliot was able to relax and unwind by indulging in some of the ales offered at local pubs. On one particular day Elliot cycled over 100 kms on a corrugated dirt road with a broken seat until he reached the next town.

Elliot is a supporter of the Collingwood Magpies and enjoys visiting Melbourne to watch them.

Elliot and Karyn enjoy renovating their home and travelling and have attended a number of Financial Planning conferences both overseas and in Australia.

Elliot missed his calling as an astronaut but would like to travel to the moon on Virgin Galactic for a holiday one day.
